Team News for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will welcome back Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski back in the squad on Tuesday. The attacking duo missed the game against Monchengladbach due to suspension. However, there is uncertainty surrounding the fitness of various players after Saturday’s game.

Flick confirmed on Monday that Javi Martinez is enduring gastrointestinal problems, while Joshua Zirkzee and Ivan Perisic are carrying knocks from the weekend’s game. The German manager is optimistic about all these players make the travelling squad.

Thiago Alcantara suffered an injury setback last week as he underwent surgery for a groin injury. He is not going to play remaining league games this season and faces a race against time to be fit for the DFB Pokal final against Bayer Leverkusen. The Spaniard had just recovered from adductor problems, missing three league games during the process of recovery.

The German manager had previously insisted that Niklas Sule and Philippe Coutinho may start training with the first team this week. Both players will be eager to play at least one of the remaining two league games as they are not going to feature against Bremen. Corentin Tolisso is the long term absentee for the Bavarians as he is still recovering from the ankle injury he suffered in April.
