Robert Lewandowski vs David Abraham

Adi Hutter has rotated David Abraham and Stefan Ilsanker in the past few games. Eintracht are likely to continue with their three-man defensive line. Abraham will probably start for this fixture and shall be given the responsibilities to keep Bayern’s talisman striker at bay.

Robert Lewandowski worked tirelessly in his previous encounter with the Eagles. The Poland international attempted 21 passes with 86% accuracy. He took four shots with a goal to his name and delivered a key pass that carried an expected assist value of 0.1.

Lewandowski’s movement to drop deep during the build-up was top notch. He often appeared as a link-up option to apply a touch to the line-breaking passes from the back. His ability to remain calm under pressure delivered results. Lewandowski absorbed pressure with his movement and created space elsewhere for a free player.

However, Abraham can change the dynamics of the game in Eintracht’s favour. Abraham displayed solid character when dealing with Lewandowski in their Hinrunde fixture. The Argentine center-back made three interceptions and four clearances during the match. He also recorded a pressing success rate of 30%, the second-best in his squad that day. He also seems to be the lucky charm for Adi Hutter. Eintracht have conceded a single goal in their last three matches, claiming six points in the process, when Abraham has skippered.
