Three key performers for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga during May.

As the world was fighting the coronavirus pandemic, various top European leagues were suspended in March. After a two-month break, Bundesliga returned in mid-May. For Bayern Munich, it has been a happy return as they continue their march towards another league title.

The first fixture after the break was a trip away to Berlin for Die Roten. It was a difficult game against Union Berlin, but the defending champions managed to come back home with a 2-0 victory. The performance was patchy, but it was an important and well-earned victory.

Rekordmeister improved in the following weekend, clinching a comfortable 5-2 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt at Allianz Arena. Apart from a small spell in the second half, it was a dominating performance from Die Roten.

There was no time to breathe as Der Klassiker followed after two days. Die Roten showed a great amount of composure to come away with three points from Signal Iduna Park. The Bavarians wrapped up an important month with a 5-0 thrashing of Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday.

All the four games saw some varied performances from Die Roten as they managed different oppositions and situations perfectly. However, some players were consistent in all four games. Here are the top three performers for Die Roten during May.
