Alphonso Davies continues to take massive strides at Bayern Munich

Under Flick’s tutelage, Die Roten has found a new star in the left-back position. During an injury crisis in defense, Flick decided to utilize Alphonso Davies on the left flank. The Canadian took no time to adapt to this new role and became a consistent performer since November.

Davies recharged his batteries during the break and came back as a much stronger player. The teenager has been a top performer for Die Roten in all three games. His defensive positioning has improved, winning the individual duels with ease. Moreover, Davies is cleverly using his pace to bail out his team from danger.

On Tuesday, Davies came out on top in the much-anticipated duel against Achraf Hakimi. He locked down the whole left flank and also remained a threat while going forward. In the game against Frankfurt, Davies scored a goal and assist, showing improvement in the final third.

Davies is playing in a deeper role, but he aggressively presses higher up the pitch, helping the team to win the ball quickly. The young full-back still has a lot to learn, but the signs are promising. He has improved further after the break, becoming one of the most potent full-backs in Europe. There will be many different challenges ahead of him, but he has shown enough till now that he can cope with expectations.
