Bayern Munich will kick start their season against Union Berlin as Bundesliga returns after two months.

After a long wait, the Bundesliga returns to action today. There is a lot of caution and excitement surrounding the games. Bundesliga will be keenly followed by other leagues as they became the first top European League to resume competition. Bayern Munich will restart the campaign against Union Berlin on Sunday.

The previous meeting between these two sides took place in October at Allianz Arena. Die Roten managed to clinch a narrow victory in an intense encounter. It was coincidently Niko Kovac‘s final game at Allianz Arena.

Things have changed drastically for Rekordmeister since their last meeting against Union Berlin. They have become a ruthless team under Hansi Flick, swatting aside teams in the Bundesliga. Flick’s men are yet to suffer a defeat in 2020. The German manager will be looking to keep it that way on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Uri Fischer’s side has endured mixed fortunes in Ruckrunde. They currently sit 11th in the table, eight points above the relegation. The break came at the right time for Union Berlin, allowing them to regroup and have a strong end to their maiden year in the Bundesliga. A positive result on Sunday against defending champions will set the tone for the rest of the campaign.
