Gnabry individual brilliance against Augsburg

Gnabry has scored many beautiful goals in this campaign, but his best goal came against Augsburg in October. The score was level at the half-time whistle. Die Roten desperately needed some inspiration to get ahead in the game. Gnabry provided that inspiration and delivered a typical winger’s goal.

After receiving the ball on the right flank, Gnabry dribbled past two players on the edge of the box. The German winger curled the shot past Tomas Koubek after finding proper space in the box. This goal was a reminiscence of a typical Robben goal.

Gnabry showed great precision and awareness while taking the shot, making sure that Koubek had no chance to make a save. The game ended in disappointment as Die Roten conceded a late goal and shared points with Augsburg. However, there was a moment of brilliance from Gnabry on the show, which epitomised his development as a player in the last two seasons. The goal also figuratively showed that Robben had passed the baton to Gnabry.
