Five left-back options for Bayern Munich in summer if David Alaba decides to leave Bavaria.

Bayern Munich made many tough decisions last summer, allowing four senior players to leave the club. The German club wanted to start building a young squad that can help them to enjoy sustained success for years. Die Roten went on to add a couple of young central defenders and one young midfielder to start this rebuild process.

When the transfer window opens, Rekordmeister is likely to address the attacking department as they desperately need more quality in the final third. Thomas Muller signed a new contract extension last week, but the club still needs at least one world-class attacking player.

Die Roten may have to dig in the market for a defender as David Alaba is set to enter in the final year of his contract. There has been speculation in German media that the Austrian is contemplating a move away from Bavaria and join another top European club.

Alaba has been heavily linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past. The recent reports in Germany also hinted that Bayern proposed an audacious swap deal to Manchester City involving Alaba and Leroy Sane.

Alphonso Davies is still young, so he is likely to have ups and downs in performances. Die Roten needs to have an ample amount of cover in this position as Lucas Hernandez is most likely to play in the heart of defense next season. If Alaba does leave Die Roten after ten seasons, here are five left-backs that can help the German club to replace in the transfer market.
