Adopt an aggressive approach in the transfer window

FIFA released a statement on Tuesday regarding the changes in the player contracts and summer transfer window. There is still no clarity about when the European summer transfer window will open, but that is not going to halt recruitment plans of clubs.

Bayern have been efficient in transfers for most of the last decade. Last summer also started on a good note as they had wrapped up the deals for Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard even before the window had opened. The club needed a defensive overhaul, and they did it with some style as Mats Hummels also left the club at the start of the window.

After concluding these two deals, Die Roten fixated on signing Leroy Sane from Manchester City. The transfer saga lasted the whole summer and didn’t even end in Rekordmeister’s favour. The club ended up completing loan deals for Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho. Die Roten need to be more aggressive this summer as late deals give new players very little time to integrate with the squad.

Moreover, the club surely needs to stop looking at expensive loan deals with other top clubs in Europe. Either the players are short on confidence, or else they fail to live up to the promise they show at the start of the loan spell. This summer, Die Roten should look to get the deals done as soon as possible to allow them time to bed in with the squad. Moreover, there is no point getting involved in a transfer saga, so having solid back up options will be the way to go for Bavarians.
