Breno

Bayern decided to pay a fee in the region of €12 million for Breno in 2007 on the back of his impressive performances for Sao Paulo. (Source: Transfermarkt) The Brazilian was tipped to become the next top center-back for Brazil, but injuries and off the pitch never allowed him to fulfill his potential.

Since he joined in the winter break, Breno made very few appearances in his first six months at the club. He struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup during his second season and eventually was loaned to FC Nurnberg at the start of his third season at Bayern.

The loan spell at Nurnberg turned out to be a nightmare for Breno as he suffered a serious knee injury that kept him out for a long time. After returning to Die Roten in 2010, the Brazilian defender landed himself in trouble after destructing his villa with fire. He was eventually handed a three-year jail sentence.

Breno is currently playing in Brazil for Vasco Da Gama. A promising career went down the drain for numerous unfortunate incidents. Bayern were never able to see the best of Breno as he managed only 33 appearances for the club during his time at the club. The Brazilian goes down as one of the worst pieces of Bayern has done in its history.
