Thomas Muller

Thomas Muller has been the ultimate big-game player for Bayern Munich in the last ten years. Since making his debut for the first team in 2009, Muller has consistently scored and created big goals for Die Roten.

The German forward has been a steady decline in the past few seasons. He lost his place in the starting XI this season, and reports were suggesting that he will soon leave the club. However, the arrival of Hansi Flick turned out to be a blessing for the 30-year-old forward.

Muller started gaining confidence on the pitch due to the faith shown by Flick in him. His performances improved, and he started delivering in tough moments for Bayern. Muller has been a creative force for Die Roten this campaign, racking up 16 assists in the Bundesliga.

In big games, Muller has not scored goals, but his movement has been creating all sorts of problems for the opponent. He was Die Roten’s best player against RB Leipzig in February. Against Chelsea in the Champions League, Muller worked hard throughout the game and created space for other forwards by making clever runs. Age is catching up with Muller, but he remains a very important player for Bayern in big games.
