Ilkay Gundogan

The first name on the list is a player Bayern have been heavily linked with in the past- Ilkay Gundogan. The German midfielder was linked with a move to Bavaria when he was playing for Borussia Dortmund. However, a move never materialized, and he went on to join Manchester City.

Gundogan has got rid of all past injury concerns and established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. The 29-year-old midfielder can operate as a number six and number eight, making him a perfect replacement for Tolisso.

Moreover, Gundogan will also add much-needed experience to the midfield department. He will need very little time to adapt as he has already succeeded in the Bundesliga. At this stage of his career, a move back to Germany can be an attractive option for Gundogan.

Agreeing on a fee with Man City will be the biggest stumbling block. The German midfielder’s current contract with the English club expires in 2023, so they are in a strong position for negotiating a fee. If Bayern manages Gundogan to get somewhere around €20 million, then it will be a fantastic business all around. He will add more quality and become a good replacement for Tolisso.
