Unai Nunez

Unai Nunez looks likely to be one of the top targets for Die Roten to replace Boateng. The Spanish defender will perfectly fit the club’s policy of getting young players to build a team that can help them in achieving sustained success.

Nunez has been one of the key defensive players for Athletic Bilbao in the past couple of seasons. The Spaniard has all the traits of a modern central defender. He can come on top in aerial and individual duels. Along with being a physically imposing central defender, Nunez also has a great passing range.

The Atheltic Bilbao defender has featured for Spain’s U-21 team, but yet to receive a cap for senior team His potential arrival can complete Die Roten’s defensive rebuild as they will have a good set of young defenders that have their best years in front of them.

In terms of the financial aspect of this transfer, Bayern will have no room to negotiate with Bilbao for the transfer fee. The Spanish club only allows its players to leave if their release clause is met. Nunez currently has a €30 million clause (via AS) in his contract, which is a fairly reasonable price for a young defender in the current transfer market.
