Four center-back options Bayern Munich can explore in summer to replace Jerome Boateng.

Jerome Boateng continued his upward trajectory in the level of his performances under Hansi Flick on Sunday. He was flawless defensively against Augsburg and also created the goal for Thomas Muller with a delightful aerial pass in the box.

Boateng has won back the place in the starting XI by delivering consistent performances in the absence of Lucas Hernandez and Niklas Sule. The German defender is currently the first-choice option along with David Alaba in the central defense.

As a consequence of these performances, one would expect that Boateng may prolong his career in Munich. However, it will be a huge surprise to see the German defender stay beyond this summer as he is unlikely to get regular playing time when Hernandez and Sule return.

In the last two summers, Boateng had tried to leave the club after Paris-Saint Germain and Juventus showed interest in him. The recent performances will help the player to get a big move, and Die Roten can also get a bigger fee for a veteran player. The defending Bundesliga champions may have to consider replacements for Boateng before sanctioning his transfer in summer. Here are the four options that can help Rekordmeister in filling the void left by Boateng.
