Return of injured stars

The game against Augsburg could see a few players returning to action. Jerome Boateng trained with reserves on Thursday after missing the game against Schalke due to stomach problems. The German defender should be fit to play against Augsburg, allowing Joshua Kimmich to move back in midfield.

Lucas Hernandez suffered a knock against Hoffenheim last weekend. The French defender didn’t travel to Veltins Arena due to this minor knock. He was seen training individually on Thursday, so the injury is unlikely to be serious. It has been a start-stop debut season for Hernandez. The Frenchman will be hoping to be fit for the rest of the campaign.

Apart from Hernandez and Boateng, there is a possibility of seeing Kingsley Coman feature against Augsburg. The French winger suffered a minor injury against Chelsea last week, which kept him out of the last two games. Since he started training on the pitch this week, Coman looks to be closing on a return to action.

All these three players have a big role to play in Bayern’s final phase of the season. If they get some sort of game time against Augsburg, it will bode well for the upcoming busy schedule. After losing Robert Lewandowski to a serious injury, Rekordmeister will be hoping that the rest of the squad remains fit for the defining months of this season.
