Opposition Focus

On their day, Schalke can beat any side, but they have struggled to find consistency in their performances this term. The hosts on Tuesday will have to find a way to navigate through Bayern’s press. Flick has made sure that his team starts on the front foot by aggressively pressing the opponent deep in their final third.

Schalke will have to rely on the counter-attacks as Die Roten eventually seize control of the game and dominate possession. They should make sure that they don’t commit errors in the first 15 minutes of the game and slow down the pace of the game.

Suat Serdar and Amine Harit will be the key goal threats for Schalke against Bayern. This duo has scored combine 13 goals in the Bundesliga this season. Apart from these two players, Bayern should also be wary of Bastian Oczipka, who has a great eye for a killer pass in the final third.

FC Schalke 2-4 Bayern Munich

Despite Bayern’s scintillating form in the last ten days, I expect this game to go down the wire. Schalke has been inconsistent this season, but they have stepped up in the cup competition, so this could be another goal-fest with Die Roten managing a way to come out at the top.
