Bayern have relied on Robert Lewandowski for goals this season. The Polish striker is expected to be on side-lines for four weeks after fracturing his tibia against Chelsea. His absence in the next four weeks may hurt them, but Sunday’s performance in the final third was encouraging.

Javi Martinez made it to the squad against Hoffenheim after being out of action since December due to a muscle injury. The Spaniard was an unused substitute on Saturday, but he is likely to be completely fit for the game against Schalke. Jerome Boateng and Lucas Hernandez are also set to miss this game due to illness and minor knock, respectively.

Kingsley Coman remains a doubt for this game. The French winger suffered a muscle strain against Chelsea. The club announced after the game that Coman is expected to be out for five to seven days. Flick is unlikely to take any risk with him as big games are coming thick and fast, so Coman may not travel with the squad on Tuesday.

Ivan Perisic is yet to start training with the first team, but he is closer to his return. The Croatian is likely to be fit before the international break this month. Meanwhile, Niklas Sule continues rehabilitation from a knee injury as he remains determined to play for Bayern this season.
