Bayern Munich must aim to exploit the space on the left flank when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for their first leg of UCL Round of 16.

Bayern Munich will travel to London to face their arch European rivals, Chelsea FC. It is a clash that has gained traction in the past decade. The Bavarians can never forget the night in 2012 when the Blues lifted the European crown in Munich. A match that went down to the last kick from the spot is tattooed in every Chelsea fan’s heart.

However, Die Roten got their revenge a year later. Bayern lifted the UEFA Super Cup 2013 in Prague after beating Chelsea five-four on penalties. The two clubs are meeting for the first time in the European competition since the final in 2012, so there will be an extra edge to this game.

Bayern’s previous trip to London saw a hammering of Tottenham Hotspur with Niko Kovac in charge. Hansi Flick will aim for maintaining Bayern’s perfect start to their European campaign. Bayern bagged an extraordinary 18 points in the group stage. A victory at the Bridge will only increase Flick’s chances of signing a contract extension.
