More goalscorers

In the first half of the season, Bayern heavily relied on Lewandowski for goals. The Pole will still have to score the majority of goals until the end of the campaign. However, he has much better support from his teammates, which will decrease the pressure on him.

Lately, Bayern are having different names on the score sheet. Goretzka and Thiago are scoring goals from the midfield. The midfield duo arrives late in the box to provide more options for the wingers and full-backs. Thiago is particularly excelling in the number eight role, dribbling past opponents to score solo goals.

Muller has also scored four goals across all competitions in 2020. The German forward’s return to form helps Bayern to have one more goalscoring option. Serge Gnabry is also peaking at the right time of the season as he scored braces against FC Cologne and SC Paderborn.

Lewandowski is still finding the back of the net in every game. However, the diversity in goalscorers bodes well for Die Roten’s hopes of doing well in the Champions League. Multiple threats in the box will make sure that opponents have no respite, and there will not be over-reliance on Lewandowski.
