Michael Ballack

Every midfield player in this list unique. However, Michael Ballack delivered the most well-rounded midfield performances during his time at Bayern. The former German midfielder spent only four seasons at the club but left with a very impressive legacy.

Ballack reportedly rejected advances from Real Madrid to join Bayern, which itself makes him a cult hero amongst Bayern performances. During his time, he was the most complete midfielder in the Bundesliga. He provided tenacity to the midfield with his work rate.

Along with being the engine of the team, Ballack was efficient in the final third. He used to pick the forwards with the most precise passes. His record in front of the goal was staggering as he managed to score 61 goals across all competitions in four seasons.

Ballack was also a leader on the pitch without having the armband. His style of play was not pleasing to the eye, but very much effective for the team. Things did sour for Ballack at Bayern during his final year at the club, nevertheless, he was one of the most complete midfield players to play for Die Roten.
