Jerome Boateng vs Timo Werner

RB Leipzig’s title charge has been lead by Timo Werner. The German striker is in superb form after an underwhelming campaign last season, scoring 20 goals in the Bundesliga till now. After sorting his immediate future at Leipzig, Werner is taking big strides towards becoming one of the most lethal forwards in Europe.

Werner will be the biggest threat to Die Roten’s defense on Sunday. He punishes every mistake and turnover in the opponent’s half. The German striker has the pace to burn on the counter, so Leipzig will be looking to release him as soon as possible.

Bayern have looked solid defensively in the last three league games, but they will have to perform even better to keep Werner quiet. Jerome Boateng has been praised by Salihamidzic for his good showings in central defense. The German defender will have to get the positioning right to stop Werner as he cannot beat the striker in a foot race.

This game has not been high scoring in the past few seasons, but Werner’s form gives Leipzig a great chance to go all out against Die Roten’s defense. Boateng will have to avoid making errors and stop Werner from getting enough space to run at their defense.
