Team News

Just when it felt like Bayern’s injury woes were coming top an end, the club suffered a huge setback on Tuesday. Ivan Perisic suffered a fracture in his ankle during training. Flick confirmed that the Croatian winger will be out for at least four weeks.

However, there was some positive news on the injury front last week as Kingsley Coman returned to training with the first team. Coman continued training with the team this week too, but this game will come too soon for the Frenchman. Die Roten need all their forwards to fit for the next two months as they play multiple games across all competitions.

Lucas Hernandez is also training with the first team for quite some time now. The French defender had suffered a serious ankle injury in October that kept him out of action for three months. It has been a tough debut season for Hernandez. Rekordmeister will be looking to slowly easing him back in action to avoid another setback. Flick insisted on Tuesday that Hernandez will be in the squad against Hoffenheim.

Serge Gnabry is slowly building his fitness as he continues to get minutes off the bench. Niklas Sule remains the only long term absentee for Die Roten. The German defender is on track in his recovery process from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
