Bayern Munich: Key Highlights of January
Injury situation getting better
Bayern Munich have been ravaged with injury problems in the last two months. They suffered a massive setback when Serge Gnabry suffered an achilles injury in the winter training camp at Doha.
Gnabry didn’t train with the team for two weeks but managed to be fit for the game against Hertha. Flick was not ready to risk him and started Gnabry on the bench in both league games. The German winger is likely to be completely fit for the upcoming games.
Kingsley Coman also took major strides towards making a return from a knee injury. Earlier this week, the French winger trained with the first team for the first time in two months. Coman is expected to be fit for Bayern’s crucial Champions League game against Chelsea later this month.
In the defensive department, Javi Martinez and Lucas Hernandez also continued their recovery process in January. Both players are expected to return to action by the second weekend of February. Bayern will be pleased with the recovery of all players in January. The German club will be hoping that they have better luck with injuries as games will be coming thick and fast in the next three months.
