Important takeaways from matchday 19 of the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich thrash Schalke at Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich continued their good form in the Bundesliga on Saturday. The Bavarians delivered a complete performance to clinch a 5-0 victory against FC Schalke. This win helped Die Roten to close in on the top position in the Bundesliga as RB Leipzig suffered a 2-0 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the hosts on Saturday. Thomas Muller doubled the lead at the end of the first half, while quickfire goals from Thiago Alcantara and Leon Goretzka in the second half sealed the game. The team didn’t show any sign of complacency throughout 90 minutes as they kept on looking for goals, and eventually, got the fifth goal in the last minute of the game.
