Four Takeaways as Bayern Munich smash Hertha Berlin
Players returning from injury
There was a serious concern among the Bayern players and fans that the squad would be too small due to several injuries to key players. Niklas Sule is out for the season, but Lucas Hernandez is rumoured to be coming back in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, by the first Chelsea match, he will be a first-team regular again. Even though he will be out for the rest of the month, Kingsley Coman will be back before the season ends to aid in the title defense effort.
The reason this is an observation for me is that two players returned from injury in this week’s match. Robert Lewandowski started the match after returning from a groin injury, and Serge Gnabry came on very late in the match after an achilles injury.
Both players play a big role for Bayern and will be desperately needed for future successes. There are youth players that can be used in case of an emergency, but due to their lack of experience, that should be a worst-case scenario. Hopefully, the players stay healthy for the remainder of the season, and Bayern can enjoy a successful campaign.
