Winter break is finally over

The winter break is over for the Bundesliga, and it’s time for the Ruckrunde to begin. On Sunday, it felt like Bayern were still on break during the first half. Passes were sluggish, often misplaced, and there was a real lack of urgency in the attack. Several players were not at the top of their game, and it showed in both midfield and attack. Bayern were lucky that Hertha couldn’t capitalize on these mistakes. Even with Dodi Lukebakio on the flank, the hosts couldn’t find a breakthrough. He is always a threat with his pace and has historically troubled Die Roten in the past.

The match did finish in a victory, and now, Bayern has moved into second place in the Bundesliga, one point ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach and four points behind the leaders RB Leipzig. With more players coming back from injury, the Bavarians are in a great place to overtake Leipzig in the second half of the season.
