Over the years, Bayern Munich had completed deals for some of the promising and high-profile players in the winter transfer window.

The transfer window re-opened at the start of this month. This window helps clubs to find temporary and permanent solutions to the problems in their squad. Bayern Munich is expected to have a quiet window, but they have been strongly linked with players in the past few weeks.

Generally, Die Roten hardly make any big signings during the winter transfer window. They do start planning for summer and often reach an agreement with players that will be available on a free transfer in the following summer transfer window. Robert Lewandowski and Leon Goretzka are the prime examples of such types of transfers in the past few years. The two players joined the club on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.

Despite their quiet approach in January, Bayern has welcomed some high-profile players in the past during the winter transfer window. Some have failed to live up to their expectations while some joined on a temporary basis. Here are some of the exciting and high-profile players arrived in Bavaria during the winter transfer window.
