Five positions Bayern Munich should address in winter market
Striker
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted that the club will not sign a striker anytime soon. He insisted that Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller can fill in for Robert Lewandowski whenever needed.
Despite these valid arguments, Die Roten should look to add a young striker in January. Lewandowski is confident that he will play at the top level for at least four more seasons. To get the best out of him for a longer time, it is necessary to manage his workload from now. Moreover, Gnabry and Muller also have other important roles to play in the starting XI.
Signing a young striker will mean that Bayern will not do the same mistake that they did with Robben and Ribery. They took too long to start searching for their replacements. Gnabry has done well, but he needs to go a couple of levels up to fill the void left by the veteran wingers. Apart from him, Bayern has no wingers that consistently come up with goods.
A similar situation should be avoided in the striker’s department. A good deputy for Lewandowski will also give the manager much more tactical flexibility. This transfer will also add more goals to the squad, making it a win-win situation for everybody.
These are the four positions; I think Bayern should look to improve in January. Which position do you want Die Roten to improve this month?
