Robert Lewandowski is ageing like a fine wine

The biggest positive for Bayern from the first half of the season is the form of Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker has been in red hot form for Die Roten and saving them from embarrassment on numerous occasions.

At the halfway stage, Lewandowski has 30 goals to his name across all competitions. He is the leading goal scorer in the Bundesliga with 18 goals. The Polish striker has looked much fitter and sharper than the past couple of seasons. His overall play outside the box has improved as he works hard to help the team in building attacking moves.

Lewandowski is on course to achieve the best tally of his career. He is likely to hit 60 goals across all competitions provided Die Roten go deep in the Champions League. The Polish striker needs to now come up with goods in big European games as he has been previously criticised for not delivering in such fixtures.

Die Roten did well to manage the whole saga and brought clarity over Lewandowski’s future by extending his contract at the start of the season. This move has surely helped in reducing speculation surrounding Lewandowski, eventually helping him to deliver goods with a clear mindset.
