There were some essential takeaways for Bayern Munich from a tough first half of the season that involved key events on and off the pitch.

Bayern Munich are getting ready for the winter camp in Doha that is set to start tomorrow. The players are set to be training hard in this camp for seven days till January 10. Die Roten have many things to iron out after an underwhelming first half of the season.

The Bundesliga champions currently sit third in the league, four points behind league leaders RB Leipzig. They have been inconsistent throughout their title defense in the past five months, but mixed results for other clubs have been saving grace for Bayern. The late flurry of wins at the end of December made sure that they remain firmly in the title race.

It was an eventful first half of the season as Niko Kovac lost his job due to inconsistent performances and results. The run in the cup competitions have been superb, but league performances have been way below par.
