Left-winger— Franck Ribery

Bayern struck gold when they reached an agreement with Marseille for Franck Ribery at the start of the 2007/08 season. There was no looking back for the club and player after this transfer. Ribery went on to establish himself as one of the finest wingers of his generation.

Ribery, along with Robben, formed a deadly combination in the attack. The Frenchman was consistently beating the full-back with his amazing dribbling style. He found other attacking players in the final third with ease, but also, scored some brilliant individual goals.

The French international was one of the most important players for Bayern during their treble season in 2013. He ended up finishing on the podium for Ballon d’Or and UEFA player of the year awards after that season. Ribery will easily fit in all-time best Bayern XI, so it was an easy decision to include him in the team of the decade despite his injury woes in the past five seasons.

Ribery and Bayern fans were left with tears when the club decided to release him at the end of last season. He ended up with nine Bundesliga winners’ medals during his 12-year stay at the club. As far as stats are concerned, Ribery managed to 124 goals in 425 appearances for Bayern. Die Roten will have to work hard to find an adequate replacement for the French winger.
