Central midfielder— Bastian Schweinsteiger

Nobody embodies Bayern’s Mia San Mia feeling than Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German midfielder is one of the best midfielders Germany has produced. He was on a steady decline in this decade, but still, managed to deliver some big performances for Bayern.

Schweinsteiger also came through youth teams of Bayern and went on to establish himself as a key player in the first team. The most astonishing fact of his career in Bavaria is that he made a smooth transition from a winger to a marauding center-midfielder.

The German midfielder was not the first choice captain of Bayern’s first team, but he always acted like a leader on the pitch. When the going got tough, it was Schweinsteiger who lifted the spirits of the team with his performance and leadership skills. He brought tenacity to the midfield and made darting runs in the box to score some memorable goals.

Schweinsteiger’s gritty performances in Bayern’s 7-0 aggregate win over Barcelona in 2012/13 perfectly sums up what kind of player he was. He struggled with injuries during his last few seasons at Bayern Munich, but he will always be fondly remembered as Fussballgott by the Bayern fans.
