Bayern Munich 4-0 Borussia Dortmund

Bayern decided to handover the temporary charge of the first team to Hansi Flick. He joined Bayern in summer as assistant manager, but now looked set to manage the first team for at least two games. Die Roten looked rusty against Olympiakos at Allianz Arena in the Champions League, but they got the job done and booked their place in the next round of the competition.

Flick had a much tougher challenge in the Bundesliga as Die Roten hosted Borussia Dortmund before the third international break of the season. He stuck with the same lineup that featured against Olympiakos.

To everyone’s surprise, Bayern demolished Dortmund at home with ease. The players looked more confident on the ball and defended resolutely. While going forward, the forwards were ruthless and hammered four goals past Roman Burki.

The result against Dortmund made sure that Bayern doesn’t drift away in the title race. It also helped in easing the tension in the dressing room as players were under pressure to perform after Kovac’s departure. The two comfortable victories in the space of four days made sure that Flick gets to manage the first team for a longer period this season.
