Poland

Poland continued their fine form in qualifying campaign by clinching two narrow victories against Israel and Slovenia. Robert Lewandowski came on at the hour mark against Israel. It was a rare game for Bayern’s number nine this season where he didn’t find the back of the net. He started against Slovenia and compensated for the previous game by scoring a sublime individual goal in the second half.

Austria

Austria booked their ticket for next year’s Euros by clinching a narrow 2-1 victory against North Macedonia last week. David Alaba started on the left flank in this game. He showed great awareness and movement for the first goal, while the Macedonian defense stood still. After receiving the pass in a dangerous position, Alaba showed great composure to slot it past the goalkeeper. Austria suffered 1-0 defeat against Latvia this week. Alaba saw this game from side-lines as he was rested for this game.

Canada

Alphonso Davies was the only Bayern player who had a disappointing outing during the international break. Canada was on the receiving end of a 4-1 thumping against the United States of America. On an individual level, Davies delivered a decent performance. He was deployed in the left-back position.
