Striker

Leading the attack upfront is someone who needs no introduction. Germany’s all-time great; a man born to score goals, we have Gerd Muller as the final piece in our jigsaw. Also known as Der Bomber, Muller was a prolific center-forward who scored 365 goals in 427 league appearances for Bayern.

He also holds the record for bagging 40 goals in the 1971-72 Bundesliga season. His lethal finishing helped him earn the German top scorer award seven times and the European top scorer twice. From the footballing era of Franz Beckenbauer, Muller was pivotal in filling Bayern’s trophy cabinet with four league titles and three European Cups.

While he was slightly short in stature for a typical center-forward, Gerd Muller was agile and quick to find space and score goals. The deadliest feet that Germany has ever seen, Muller would have been any manager’s dream to lead the attack.

We see our all-time Bayern XI rostered in a 4-4-1-1.
