Having suffered a setback with Leroy Sane’s injury news, Bayern were desperate to bolster their attacking options. It was in mid-August when Bayern announced the arrival of Philippe Coutinho, on loan from Barcelona, for a fee close to €8.5 million.

The Brazilian who supposedly unhappy with the Catalan giants can turn out to be a perfect fit for Bayern Munich. Coutinho was a menace for the opposition defenders during his time at Liverpool, scoring 41 goals in 152 Premier League appearances. He is at his best in the number ten role, but an also do a job on the left side of the front three. (Stats courtesy: ESPNFC)

Kovac would be pleased to have the little maestro in his squad as the 2019 Copa America winner would not merely add depth in the attacking zone for Bayern but his sheer quality will give Kovac selection headache for picking the attacking line supporting Robert Lewandowski.

Although not in his best form yet following a busy pre-season with Brazil, Coutinho expects to refine himself further by playing for Bayern Munich.

"“There are a lot of good players, top players and great players [here].  “I’m really happy to be here so that I can learn from them and get better.”"

Coutinho can comfortably fill James Rodriguez’s boots and this deal could turn out to be a masterstroke for Bayern. Overall an 8/10 rating for this transfer.
