No surprises here. Bayern Munich hand Hamburg a whopping 6-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena thanks to several excellent individual displays.

Manager grade

Jupp Heynckes — A+

Making four changes to the squad deployed last weekend, Jupp got it all right against Hamburg. Three points for the win means Bayern Munich only need four more from their next eight games to win their sixth consecutive Bundesliga title.

Player grades

GK, Sven Ulreich — C+

It’s hard to grade a goalkeeper who didn’t even have to make a save all game. His distribution was good enough and he kept a clean sheet. But that’s about all that can be said for the German.

DEF, David Alaba — A-

Reunited with his partner in crime, Franck Ribery, on the left flank, David Alaba showed today why many consider him the best left-back in the world. He was a huge threat as Bayern Munich stormed forward, ending the match with the most touches and picking up a wonderful assist on Bayern’s third goal. He was equally as effective in defense, though, making a few key tackles to stifle any Hamburg attack.

DEF, Mats Hummels — B

Hummels didn’t really have much to do, playing as Bayern’s deepest outfield player. He led the game in passes and helped his team keep the clean sheet.

DEF, Jerome Boateng — B+

Contrary to what has become the usual, Jerome Boateng actually outshone his partner in central defense. His passing range was on full display, as was his spectacular pace and power.

DEF, Joshua Kimmich — A-

Having just signed a major contract extension, Joshua Kimmich proved to the Bayern Munich faithful he will be a huge part of the squad for years to come. Like David Alaba, Kimmich was great both going forward and tracking back and was awarded an assist for his hard work.

MID, Javi Martinez — B

Javi Martinez played a typically solid match in defensive midfield. Not only did he shield Bayern’s backline well, but he also picked up an assist for Ribery’s second.

MID, Franck Ribery — A

A vintage match from the Frenchman. Ribery worked extremely well in tandem with David Alaba on the left flank and scored two great goals. The second was one of Bayern’s best this season. Ribery danced his way through several defenders before curling a shot around Hamburg ‘keeper Christian Mathenia.

MID, Arturo Vidal — C

A rather uneventful first-half from the Chilean, who failed to make much of an impact other than picking up an unnecessary yellow card after a poor challenge.

MID, Thomas Muller — B-

Compared to many of his teammates, Thomas Muller’s performance was a bit unimpressive. He was by no means poor, though. In fact, the raumdeuter was a bit unlucky not to finish the game with an assist or two.

MID, Arjen Robben — B+

A great performance from the Dutchman. Robben was a menace on the right wing the whole time he was on the pitch. Took his goal in the second-half with aplomb.

FWD, Robert Lewandowski — A

Robert Lewandowski got his hat-trick, what more can be said? Despite firing a late penalty over the bar, the Pole made up for it just minutes later by slotting a second attempt coolly into the back of the net.

Subs

MID, Corentin Tolisso — C+

Came in at half-time for Arturo Vidal and made his own exit only 20 minutes later. Coco did well enough during his time on the pitch but would certainly have been hoping for more minutes. He left the match in much pain, but hopefully his exit was only precautionary and there’s no serious injury.

MID, Thiago — B-

Hit the post and won a penalty in his thirty minutes on the pitch. Thiago is slowly making his way back into the squad after recovering from injury, and Bayern Munich will be all the better for it.

MID, Sebastian Rudy — C

Didn’t do much worth note in his time on the pitch, other than fire a long-range strike narrowly wide and just avoid a silly yellow card.
