Bayern Munich travel away to Freiburg in matchday 25 of the Bundesliga
Bayern Munich will be aiming to get back to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they face Freiburg on Sunday.
The Bavarians ended their 14-game winning run in all competitions against Hertha Berlin last Saturday. Bayern Munich were held to a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena by their visitors. The German Champions still sit at the top of the table in the Bundesliga, though, with a 19-point lead.
Bayern Munich have not suffered a defeat in the Bundesliga since November. Jupp Heynckes has team playing near its best. They have delivered some fantastic performances in the past three months. Along with these performances, they have also dug deep to grind out results when things were not going their way.
Freiburg find themselves in a tricky position as they enter in the final two months of the season. They have blown hot and cold throughout the season, and are 13th in the Bundesliga, just five points above the drop zone.
Team News
Bayern Munich suffered a huge blow earlier this week when Kingsley Coman underwent surgery on his ankle. The Frenchman is expected to be out for several weeks and some reports have even suggested that he could miss the rest of the campaign.
James Rodriguez is yet to join the squad in training after suffering an injury against Besiktas. The Colombian will start training on the pitch on Monday. Franck Ribery is also set to miss this game due to illness. Manuel Neuer is still doing light training and is not expected to return this month.
Predicted XI
There is no doubt that Sven Ulreich is going to start this game in goal. However, there might be some changes in defense. Jerome Boateng will partner Mats Hummels in the heart of defense after missing out against Hertha Berlin due to illness. Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba are likely to occupy the right-back and left-back positions.
Javi Martinez will most probably keep his place in the holding midfield role. Arturo Vidal will come back to the starting lineup to partner the Spaniard in the center of the park. Thiago Alcantara will complete the midfield three by being the most advance midfielder.
Heynckes will have some selection headaches in attack as Coman, Rodriguez and Ribery are not fit for this game. Arjen Robben will most probably play on the right flank while Thomas Muller will occupy the left flank. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the German Champions.

Opposition Focus
Freiburg have won only six games in the Bundesliga this season. However, five out of these six wins have come at home. Freiburg had a positive result last week as they earned a point away at Hoffenheim and they will be hoping to get a positive result on Sunday. Bayern Munich have a pretty good record against Freiburg in the past two years though.

The hosts will be hoping to hurt Bayern on the counter and set pieces on Sunday. Nils Petersen has been enjoying a prolific campaign for Freiburg. The German has scored 12 goals for the hosts in the Bundesliga. Bayern will have to keep Petersen quiet as he is the main outlet for goals in this Freiburg team.
