Bayern Munich look to get closer to qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League when they play against Celtic on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich look to maintain their recently found momentum when they face Celtic in Glasgow on Tuesday. The Bavarians can cement their second position in the group by getting a win over Celtic.

Bayern Munich bounced back from their embarassing loss against Paris Saint Germain with an emphatic win over Celtic earlier this month. The German Champions will have to win all their remaining games to have a chance of finishing first in the group.

Celtic, meanwhile, will be hoping to get a positive result from this game in order to finish third in the group. This will allow them to play the knockout rounds of Europa League. Brendan Rodger’s men will be hoping to use their home advantage to get at least a point against Bayern.

Team News

Bayern Munich will be without their talismanic forward Robert Lewandowski for the game against Celtic. The Pole suffered a minor injury against RB Leipzig and will probably return for the weekend game. Thomas Muller is another attacking player who still remains on the sidelines.

Juan Bernat has not travelled with the squad and still lacks complete match fitness. Manuel Neuer and Franck Ribery are the only long term absentees for the German Champions.

Predicted XI

Jupp Heynckes is likely to make couple of changes against Celtic. Sven Ulreich is not going to get any rest as he takes the position in the goal. Niklas Sule might feature in the heart of defense partnering Mats Hummels. Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba will continue to occupy the full-back positions.

Javi Martinez will be deployed in the holding midfield role against Celtic. The Spaniard will be complimented by Arturo Vidal. Thiago Alcantara is likely to play the attacking midfield role for Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Heynckes has some serious thinking to do in the attacking players on Tuesday. With no first team striker available for this game it is likely that he will go with Arjen Robben in the false nine role. James Rodriguez and Kingsley Coman will complete the attacking trio on Tuesday.

Opposition Focus

Celtic currently have three points in their Champions League group as they were able to get a win over fourth placed Anderlecht. Rodger’s men are top of the table in the Scottish league but have struggled against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

The realistic target for Celtic right now is to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League by finishing third. They have some impressive players who can help them to get a positive result against Bayern Munich. Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts are a few young attacking players who can be devastating in the final third. In the midfield, Kieran Tierney and Scott Sinclair are the players to keep an eye on as they have been very impressive this season.
