Number Three: Bayern Munich 3-0 RB Leipzig (Bundesliga)

In their final game before the winter break, Bayern Munich hosted Bundesliga newcomers RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena.

The young Leipzig side were Bayern’s biggest challengers throughout all of the Bundesliga campaign and even spent some time atop the German first division. Going into the match, Bayern and Leipzig were competing for first and many wondered how the Bavarians would fare against the Red Bulls.

Bayern Munich left no questions about it though. Their performance was utterly dominant and showed Leipzig that they had no plans of loosening their chokehold on the Bundesliga.

Thiago–the best player of Bayern’s season–dominated the match and showed he was undoubtedly the biggest star on the pitch. It was the first in a series of truly amazing performances that solidified his place as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

He opened the scoring following a Lewandowski shot before providing the assist on Alonso’s second. His subtle step-over to create the space on the second was a thing of beauty. Lewandowski fired home the third later in the match to seal a solid victory.
