Bayern Munich close out their 2016-17 Bundesliga campaign with a 4-1 win over SC Freiburg, sending off two legends of the game in immense style.

Manager Grade

A. Mr. Ancelotti makes the grade here simply for sending off two legends of modern soccer in complete style. His coaching and team selection were good, but that means little considering the unimportance of the results of this game. Ancelotti sent off two amazing players in a near-perfect manner and allowed them to receive their deserved individual ovations.. Manager. Bayern Munich. CARLO ANCELOTTI

Player Grades

TOM STARKE. A-. Bayern’s third-choice keeper once again played fantastically and made several key saves. Starke’s retirement party will perhaps be overlooked amidst the legendary careers of his outfield teammates.. GK. Bayern Munich

Bernat was solid while defending his side of the pitch and threatening while attacking. His final ball left a little to be desired, but overall a good day for the Spaniard.. LB. Bayern Munich. JUAN BRENAT. B-

B-. Filling in at center-back for Martinez and Hummels, Alaba was a rock at the back and kept Bayern’s defense in good shape.. CB. Bayern Munich. DAVID ALABA

JEROME BOATENG. N/A. The German international left early with an injury. Luckily, he has a long summer break ahead of him to recover and be back at his best for the next campaign.. CB. Bayern Munich

RB. Bayern Munich. PHILIPP LAHM (C). A+. A classic performance from the Bayern legend on his last ever game for his club. Unlucky not to provide a couple assists (he had a game-high SEVEN key passes), but that takes nothing away from his great game. Lahm will go down as not only one of the greatest Bayern Munich players of all-time, but also as one of the greatest right-backs to grace a soccer pitch.

The Chilean midfielder was all over the pitch and even fired home a beautiful shot from outside the box to give Bayern their second of the game. His total of eight tackles was a match-high and give testament to Vidal’s constant hard working attitude.. CDM. Bayern Munich. ARTURO VIDAL. A-

CDM. Bayern Munich. XABI ALONSO. A+. Despite only spending a few seasons in Munich, Xabi Alonso is still a legend of modern soccer. As he so often has been in the past, Xabi was class personified on the pitch. With pinpoint passing and complete calmness on the ball (not to mention his assist for Robben’s opener), Alonso showed today why he is one of the greatest midfielders to play the game.

B. Coman worked wonderfully down the left flank, often having no trouble beating his defenders one-on-one. His left-foot crossing has improved significantly throughout the season and could have bagged an assist or two on another day. But if this game is any indication, Coman is ready to take the next step forward in his career and become a regular starter for Bayern Munich.. LM. Bayern Munich. KINGSLEY COMAN

A. Like so many Bayern players, Thomas brought his A-game today (quite literally). Constantly threatened the Freiburg defense with his accurate passes and clever runs. Despite ending the season tied for second in league assists (12), Muller will be all too ready to put this disappointing season behind him and move on to the next one. With a long summer break ahead of him, hopefully Muller can put his goal-scoring woes behind him and focus on the next campaign.. CAM. Bayern Munich. THOMAS MULLER

A+. The “Flying Dutchman” was undoubtedly the best player in red today. His goal and two assists barely show just how well Robben worked down the right-flank. He had a match-high 98 touches and was at the heart of almost all of Bayern’s ventures forward.. RM. Bayern Munich. ARJEN ROBBEN

Bayern Munich. ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI. B-. Lewandowski played extremely well and even bagged an assist in the match, but that will be of no solace to him. The Polish goal-scorer will surely be disappointed that he could not add to his tally today and finish ahead of Dortmund’s Aubameyang for most goals of the Bundesliga season.. ST

Subs

JOSHUA KIMMICH (10'). B+. Kimmich is by no means a natural center-back, but such is his talent that the Kid can play there and still give a fantastic display. His goal was not only the final of the day but also the final of the 16-17 Bundesliga season (and his 6th as well). Expect to see much more of the Wunderkind next year, as he has demanded more playing time for Bayern and rightfully so.. CB. Bayern Munich

N/A. Yes, he scored, but other than that he did not have much of an effect on the match and goes without a grade this time.. Somewhere in the attack. Bayern Munich. FRANCK RIBERY (81')

Next: Bayern Munich have not made an offer for Paulinho

Came in for Lahm in the 86th minute and was left with little to do.. RB. Bayern Munich. RAFINHA . N/A
