Bayern Munich turn their attention to Bundesliga after a disappointing midweek game against Real Madrid in Champions League.

The Bavarians travel to Bay Arena to face Bayer Leverkusen in gameweek 29. Bayern Munich are in a strong position in Bundesliga as they have a ten point lead over RB Leipzig. With a win on Saturday they will take a huge step towards retaining the title for the fourth consecutive year.

Bayern Munich have been in a fine form in Bundesliga. Apart from an odd defeat against Hoffenheim two weeks ago, they have been flwaless since the winterbreak. The Bavarians battered Borussia Dortmund in their last Bundesliga game .

On the other hand, Bayer Leverkusen have been enduring a poor campaign by their standards. They have sacked Roger Schmidt and the new manage Tayfun Korkut has hardly steadied the ship. The home side are out of cup competitions and lingering in 12th position in the table after finishing in top four last year.

Team News-

Bayern Munich were without Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski against Real Madrid. The duo are still recovering from their respective problems and are ruled out for the game against Leverkusen.

Carlo Ancelotti has one more selection headache as Jerome Boateng is also ruled out of this game due to an abductor problem. The Italian will look to rotate in midfield and attack as he will want his important players in that department to be fresh for the return leg against Real Madrid.

Predicted XI-

The Italian has very few options in defence. Manuel Neuer will retain his place after making a comeback from injury against Real Madrid. Ancelotti admitted in his press conference that David Alaba will partner Javi Martinez in the heart of defence. Juan Bernat and Rafinha will occupy the fullback roles.

There will be a good amount of rotation in midfield. Joshua Kimmich and Renato Sanches will feature in the eleven, as Thiago Alcantara will retain his place in the team. Thomas Muller will lead the line in absence of Lewandowski, flanked by Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa.

Opposition Focus-

Bayer Leverkusen have been leaking a lot of goals this tenure. The Bavarians need to be efficient if they want to finish the game quickly. However Bernd Leno can deny them if they are not at their best in finishing their chances. The young German is a fantastic goalkeeper and can pull out difficult saves.

Despite being an away side, Bayern Munich will dominate the possession. Leverkusen have good players who can hurt on counter. The rumoured Bayern Munich target- Julian Brandt is a good tricky winger who has a knack of scoring important goals. Leverkusen will miss their talisman Javier Hernandez for this game due to an injury.

Prediction-

Bayer Leverkusen 1-3 Bayern Munich
