Bayern Munich ruthlessly dominated their Bavarian neighbors with an offensive onslaught. It’s not often that a team literally puts in a perfect display, but this game was one of those rare occasions.

Manager Grade

Bayern Munich. CARLO ANCELOTTI. A+. Carlo Ancelotti decided to rotate the squad with their busy April schedule in mind, and–as the result shows–the decision paid dividends. Not only did the veterans prove their worth, but so did the youngsters, eager to show the coach that they too deserve their minutes. Ancelotti will be hoping for more of the same from his squad as they continue through this busy month.. Manager

Player Grades

B. Filling in for Manuel Neuer between the sticks, Ulreich on one hand will be thankful for a relaxing day and on the other wish he had more chances to prove himself. Bayern’s defensive solidity ensured Ulreich had virtually nothing to against a downtrodden Augsburg attack.. GK. Bayern Munich. SVEN ULREICH

B+. Bernat was like an energizer bunny on the left flank, expertly fulfilling all duties required from a Bayern left back. Created a few chances for his teammates and ensured the opposition could not create their own.. LB. Bayern Munich. JUAN BERNAT

Bayern Munich. JEROME BOATENG. A. A rock at the back, Boateng could not have hoped for a better performance following his return from injury. Assisted Muller for his final goal with an expertly placed long ball and was unlucky not to be credited for the assist for Lewandowski’s third as well. Welcome back, Jerome, we’ve all been waiting.. CB

B+. Was relatively untroubled in defense before being given an early rest by Carlo Ancelotti. Like his defensive partner, Hummels constantly threatened the Augsburg defense with well-placed long balls from the back.. CB. Bayern Munich. MATS HUMMELS

B. What do you expect? As ever, the captain was nothing short of solid on the right side of the pitch, but you could have already guessed that.. RB. Bayern Munich. PHILIPP LAHM (C)

A+. It’s high time the world recognizes that Thiago is on a level of his own in the midfield. Every game it seems as if Thiago cannot improve on his last performance, yet every game he does. He was at the heart of all things good for the Bavarians and combined particularly well with Lewandowski and Muller. His goal may have just been a tap in after a cheeky pass from Lewandowski, but his assist was sublime. In what has become his trademark style, Thiago cut across the box, before sending in a perfectly placed vertical ball for the Polish striker to bury in the back of the net.. CDM. Bayern Munich. THIAGO

A. Full matches have become a rarity for the German Wunderkind in recent times, which makes it all the more impressive that Kimmich did not waste this chance to show his value. Playing the role of holding midfielder for the suspended Xabi Alonso, Joshua had a match high 115 completed passes with an exceptional 94.8% passing accuracy. On top of that, the hard-working midfielder also had 7 interceptions, another match high. Whether in midfield or at right back, it is becoming imperative that Joshua Kimmich needs some more playing time to fully develop into the superstar he can certainly become.. CDM. Bayern Munich. JOSHUA KIMMICH

Bayern Munich. FRANCK RIBERY. A-. Came flying out of the gates and never looked back, the Frenchman was a menace on the left flank, his energy often proving too much for the Augsburg defense to handle. Showed off his neat dribbling several times and played a near perfect pass to set up Lewandowski’s second.. LM

A+. It can officially be said now: Thomas Muller is back. The German international led Bayern Munich with eight shots, converting two of those into goals and putting another two off the woodwork. His combination with Lewandowski at the front was a thing to behold, and if he continues on current form then it is hard to imagine a scenario where he would not be one of the first names on Ancelotti’s team sheet.. CAM. Bayern Munich. THOMAS MULLER

B. Perhaps the least impressive performer of Bayern Munich’s stellar attack, but that says less about the Frenchman’s play than it does of his teammates’. Completed two dribbles and four crosses in his time on the pitch before making way for Arjen Robben. Like Kimmich, Coman needs more playing time to fully develop and he did well today to show that he deserves it.. RM. Bayern Munich. KINGSLEY COMAN

A+. Three goals and two assists for the Pole today just about say all that needs to be said. Although he might have slightly more competition than Thiago, Lewandowski is the best of the best in his position and deserves recognition for that. As he demonstrated today, he is one of the few strikers in Europe who can create equally as well as he can finish.. ST. Bayern Munich. ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI

Subs

ARJEN ROBBEN (61'). B. Replaced Coman in the 61′ eager to add to the Bayern Munich tally, but was unable to do so despite his excellent play in the opposition third.. RM. Bayern Munich

B-. Replaced Thiago with the game fading out, but played much better than in recent times. Sanches was eager to open his account with the Bavarians today, but could not do so–his powerful shot found nothing more than an Augsburg defender and nearly took him out of the game. Will be hoping to build off this performance and earn more playing time throughout the month of April.. CDM. Bayern Munich. RENATO SANCHES (65')

N/A. Replaced Hummels with the game virtually over and had little impact on the outcome.. CB. Bayern Munich. RAFINHA (72')
