Bayern Munich Forward Eager To Win More Titles With The Club

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery aiming to add more honours to his name for Bayern Munich.

The former French international extended his contract with Bayern Munich earlier this month. He believes that the club is in great shape to win more silverware in 2017. The winger has been an important player for Carlo Ancelotti this year.

Ribery turns 34 in April and he believes that he has still a lot to offer on the pitch. He suffered numerous injuries in past two years. Ribery came back strong this term and been enjoying his football under Ancelotti. While talking to Bild, Ribery expressed his happiness about signing the new deal at the club.

"“The moment when I extended my contract was really nice.A year more with Bayern — it’s super.”“I don’t know what will happen after 2018 but for now the next 18 months will be great. With Bayern president- Uli Hoeness, with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, with the team, with the fans. Hopefully we’ll win a lot of titles.”"

The Frenchman joined Bayern Munich in 2007 from Marseille. He has won numerous trophies with the club including the famous treble under Jupp Heynckes. The forward was Bayern’s important player that season and finished third in the race for Ballon D’or.

Ribery also stressed on his love for Bayern Munich fans in this interview. He was given a roaring ovation from the fans when he made his return in February after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The winger admits that he is eager to bring more joy to the fans with his performances on the pitch.

"“I always want to have a lot of fun with my fans — I want to bring them joy.”“The fans know that I always go at full throttle and give 100 percent on the pitch — not only for the club and my team but also for them.It’s such a nice relationship with my fans.”"

Ribery is currently enjoying the winter break as his team end the year on a high by opening a three point lead at the top of the table in Bundesliga.
