Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has hailed his players after the teaam’s 3-0 demolition of RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

The German champions shocked the visitors with their ruthlessness in the first half. Bayern Munich seized control of the game in the first half courtesy of three goals from Thiago, Robert Lewandowski and Xabi Alonso.

Ancelotti’s men consolidated their position at the top of the table. They open up a three point lead over RB Leipzig going into the Winter break. The Italian admitted that he was satisfied the way the team turned up for this crucial game.

"“I am very satisfied. We were very aggressive right from the start, we were in immediate control of the game and the early goal locked the game for us. We began at a higher intensity.”‘It was the best opening phase of a game this season and I am very happy.”"

Bayern didn’t give RB Leipzig a space to breathe in the first half. The pressing from the midfield caused all problems to the visitors. Ancelotti believes this win gives a great confidence to the team and they will be stronger in the upcoming new year.

He also had a special praise for a couple midfielders who helped the team in dominating the game. Bayern Munich had struggled against Darmstadt on Saturday. The Italian admitted that the team showed great improvement from Saturday.

"‘The players matched my expectations, particularly in the first 30 minute-that was perfect. Alonso did not play in a new position, he did his job very well and he is a quality player. Thiago interpreted his attacking midfield role very well.”‘Victory gives us self-confidence. We had to improve and we improved.’"

After few blips, Bayern are slowly picking up form under Ancelotti. The German giants are now on the back of five consecutive wins in the league. The team will now recharge their batteries in the break as they face Freiburg on January 20.
