Bayern Munich Forward Needs To Improve His Game
Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has been warned to improve his performances in order to be again in starting eleven.
Muller watched from sidelines for the whole 90 minutes when Bayern Munich played against title challengers RB Leipzig on Wednesday. The Bavarians went three points clear at the top after their impressive 3-0 win over Leipzig.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge has urged Muller to show improvement in order to regain his place in the team. He admitted that the team has a lot of quality, so the players need to work hard for their place in the team.
"“You need 16, 17 or 18 players these days. We have a lot of players of the highest quality.”“That means every now and then two or three players will not be in the team and might be unhappy. That should be a motivation for the players to perhaps do better in certain areas in 2017. That is the case with Muller.”"
The World Cup winner has been struggling for form this season after an impressive 2015-16 campaign. Muller had scored 20 times in the league last year. However this year he has just found the net only once in 13 games.
There is a fierce competition for the positions upfront at Bayern. Robert Lewandowski is an untouchable due to his form. On the other hand Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa are in decent form which has cost Muller his place.

The German’s overall play has been decent but his shot conversion has been very poor this year. The winter break has come at right time for Muller to recharge his batteries and improve in the second half of the season.
Bayern Munich resume their campaign on January 20 against Freiburg. Muller will be hoping to regain his midas touch in new year and cement his place in the team.
