Bayern Munich travel to relegation battlers Darmstadt in order to reclaim the number one position in Bundesliga.

The German giants slipped to second position after RB Leipzig beat Hertha Berlin on Saturday.  Bayern Munich will be level on points with RB Leipzig if they win the game, but have a superior goal difference than the latter.

Bayern have enjoyed a good run of form in all competition recently. They have won all the past three league game after their first defeat in Bundesliga against Borussia Dortmund a month ago. Carlo Ancelotti’s men are poised to finish the year on high as the winter break is approaching after one more league game on Wednesday.

Darmstadt are struggling to survive in Bundesliga. They are in real danger of getting relegated as they are at the bottom of the league with eight points. Darmstadt have lost last six games in the league and seven in all competitions as they bowed out of DFB Pokal cup too.

Team News-

Ancelotti provided positive news about the fitness of his team in his pre-match conference. The Italian insists that Franck Ribery, Javi Martinez and Arjen Robben are back in training. The trio are likely to feature on Sunday.

Jerome Boateng will miss out on the game against Darmstadt due to a minor knock. There are no other fresh injuries as Julian Green and Kingsley Coman remain on sidelines. Ancelotti will have a strong group of players to field against Darmstadt.

Predicted XI-

Manuel Neuer; David Alaba, Mats Hummels, Javi Martinez, Philipp Lahm; Xabi Alonso, Thiago Alcantara, Arturo Vidal; Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller

Opposition Focus-

Darmstadt probably facing Bayern Munich at the wrong time. The team is low on confidence due to a series of defeats. Darmstadt will be hoping to turn up on Sunday as they have a considerable better home form than their away form. They have two wins and two draws at home.

They have shipped in a lot of goals this year as they have a shaky defence. On the other hand they can cause an upset with their young German attacker Antonio Mirko Colak. He is the top scorer for Darmstadt in the league with three goals.

Prediction- Darmstadt 0- 4 Bayern Munich

Bayern are likely to get a comfortable win on Sunday. They are on a good form in front of net after shipping five against Wolfsburg. The hosts have been largely toothless in attack this season so Bayern will probably return home with a cleansheet.
