Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben’s father and agent has revealed that the length of Robben’s new contract is being discussed with the club.

Robben’s current deal ends after this season. Bayern Munich announced a contract extension for Franck Ribery earlier this week. They will be looking to do the same with the Dutch forward in the upcoming days.

The winger’s agent admitted that the contract decision will not depend on Ribery’s contract extension. He insisted that the talks are going on and they are looking to find a definite length of contract which will benefit all the parties.

"“I’m not interested in what others do.I’m only interested in Arjen. We’re still in talks ,there’s nothing new to report.”“Yes, we are talking about that too.Arjen can stay healthy for two or three more years.Arjen can always make the difference when he is fit. We all know what he is capable of.”"

Robben joined Bayern Munich in 2009 from Real Madrid. He has been a talismanic figure for the German Champions. The Dutch forward has five Bundesliga titles and one Champions League title to his name during his tenure.

The former Chelsea winger has been out of action for most of time in last couple of seasons due to constant injuries. He missed some games at the start of the season due to injury. Since then he has been a key member for Bayern. The forward is still decisive in the final third and has the knack of scoring goals.

Bayern lost Kingsley Coman to couple of months due to a ligament injury. It is important for Bayern to tie Robben up atleast for next two years. This will help in the growth of the young wingers Julian Green and Kingsley Coman.

Bayern have suffered a slump in form recently. They travel to Mainz this weekend and will be looking for a win in order to stay in touch with league leaders RB Leipzig.
