Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Muller has admitted his frustration after missing a penalty against Augsburg on Wednesday.

The German international had a chance to triple his side’s lead in DFB Pokal game. He blazed the penalty over the bar. Bayern Munich went out to win the game 3-1 against Augsburg, but Muller was frustrated with his performance in the game.

Muller provided the assist for Bayern’s first goal. He delivered a beautiful ball into the box which was buried in the goal by Julian Green. The German forward had started the game as a striker as Carlo Ancelloti had rested Robert Lewandowski for this game. Muller admitted that he was left after his penalty miss in his post match interview.

"“The misses are very annoying and they bother me.”“I will focus on the football matches in the future instead and my colleagues can take the penalties.”"

Muller enjoyed a stellar season with Bayern Munich last year. The forward scored 20 times in the Bundesliga. However this year he has struggled in front of the goal as he is yet to break the duck in the league for Bayern. He has endured a slow start for Bayern as he has found the net only three times this season till now.

Ancelloti insisted that he has no problems about Muller after his penalty miss. The Italian manager believes that there are various options in the team who can step up to take penalties for Bayern. The Bayern manager also insisted that Lewandowski remains the first choice for the club.

"“Normally,Lewandowski is our first penalty taker.Muller has been good in the past, but there is no problem.”“We have many players who can take them – for example: Arjen Robben or Arturo Vidal.”"

Muller also struggled for goals in Euros for Germany in summer. Ancelloti will be hoping that Muller finds the form quickly as he remains the key member of his Bayern Munich squad.
