Bayern Munich will reportedly consider loan offers for Alexander Nubel.

The final week of the transfer window is going to be chaotic for Bayern Munich. The European Champions still have areas to address in the squad as they remain interested in signing a winger and right-back before the deadline day. Along with arrivals, Die Roten may also address the future of Alexander Nubel.

According to Sport1, the possibility of Nubel going out on loan before the end of the window is not ruled out. This report insists that Nubel was surprised to be left out of the squad against Hoffenheim as Sven Ulreich was selected in the matchday squad.

Nubel arrived in Bavaria this summer after running out his contract at Schalke. The German goalkeeper had already signed a pre-contract agreement with Die Roten in January. Nubel’s agent later confirmed that the German Champions came up with the best package, including playing time during the 2020/21 season.

There was speculation surrounding the future of Manuel Neuer when Nubel joined Die Roten. However, the club dismissed these rumours and kept on insisting that Neuer is an important player for the club. Neuer went on to play a decisive role in the treble, and he signed a new deal with the club in April.

More from Bayern Strikes

Sven Ulreich was expected to leave Bavaria this summer, allowing Nubel to become number two. However, Sport1 reports that there have been no concrete offers for Ulreich in this window till now. It remains to be seen if any club in the Bundesliga or Europe comes up with a good offer for Ulreich in the next six days. Ulreich had previously admitted that he would be open to leaving Bavaria to play regularly during the 2020/21 campaign.

The German media outlet also insists that there is also a possibility that Ulreich’s contract that expires in 2021 can be terminated. Considering Flick’s kept him on the bench against Hoffenheim, it doesn’t look like the club are desperate to offload him.

Die Roten would have ideally liked Nubel to develop under the wings of Neuer. The young German goalkeeper has the talent to succeed Neuer at the club and German National team. However, Neuer still has few years left at the top level, so Nubel will have to be patient for opportunities at Bayern.

If Ulreich ends up staying at the club, then loaning out Nubel is not the worst possible idea for Die Roten. At this stage of his career, Nubel needs to play regularly to continue his development. A loan move to the Bundesliga club will benefit all parties involved.

Die Roten had reaped rewards of sending young German players on loan in the past three seasons. Serge Gnabry flourished at Hoffenheim during the one-year loan spell in 2017/18, while Adrian Fein also got vital experience at Hamburg last season. Alexander Nubel can follow the same direction and come back strongly next summer to challenge Neuer for a place in the starting lineup.
