Bayern Munich reserves coach Seb Hoeness is a target for Hoffenheim.

It was another successful season for Bayern Munich II as Sebastian Hoeness guided the team to the title in the third division. After this resounding success, Bayern Munich is now facing an uphill battle to keep Hoeness at the club for next season.

According to Kicker, Hoffenheim wants to appoint Hoeness as their new manager for next season. Apart from Hoffenheim, there have been many enquires for Hoeness. This report insists that Die Roten were hopeful about keeping him, but the situation has changed completely.

Sport1 is reporting that Hoeness has already reached an agreement with Hoffenheim to take over the reins of the first team next season. The German outlet also adds that Hasan Salihamidzic is eager to keep Hoeness as his current contract expires in 2023. Meanwhile, AZ is reporting that Die Roten will internally replace Hoeness if he completes a move to Hoffenheim.

Hoeness managed to get the best out of young players at the club during his debut season. The German manager got the best out of talented players such as Sarpreet Singh, Leon Dajaku, and Christian Richards. All three players also went on to make their first-team debut this season.

More from Bayern Strikes

The German manager’s departure will be a big blow for Rekordmeister. Since the development of young players is much more a priority at reserves team, Die Roten will have to find an adequate manager that will continue to improve the youth players from the academy.

Bayern made some coaching changes at youth level last season. Martin Demichelis arrived at the club to manage the U-19 squad. It will be interesting to see whether the club will decide to promote former Argentine defender to the reserves team. The club will be hoping to sort a replacement before allowing Hoeness to join Hoffenheim.

Die Roten also reshuffled the coaching staff under Hansi Flick for next season. Miroslav Klose will join the staff for the next campaign after managing the U-17 team in the past couple of seasons. Klose was reluctant to give up on his role last summer, but this year the step up was too big. The forwards in the first team squad will learn a lot from Klose.
